PIEMODA is a brand of Dayou Inc., a California corporation ("PIEMODA," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit piemoda.com (the "Site"), buy from us, or contact us.

If you have questions, contact us at [email protected] or by mail at Dayou Inc., 23361 Madero, STE 231, Mission Viejo, CA 92691, USA.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Order information: name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number (optional), the products you buy, order notes, and discount codes.
  • Payment information: card or wallet details are entered directly into forms provided by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number or security code; we receive limited details such as card brand, the last four digits, and payment status.
  • Messages and requests: what you send through our contact form (name, email, phone number, message), order lookup requests (order number and email), and email newsletter sign-ups.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring site, and the date and time of your visit. We may infer your approximate location (such as city or state) from your IP address. We do not collect precise geolocation.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: small files and identifiers stored in your browser. See Section 5.

Information from others

  • Payment and fraud signals from Stripe, and delivery status from shipping carriers.

2. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • process and deliver your orders, calculate sales tax, and send order confirmations, shipping updates, and refund notices;
  • respond to your messages and provide customer support, including order lookup;
  • send cart reminders: if you enter your email at checkout but do not complete your order, we may send up to two reminder emails (about 1 hour and 24 hours later);
  • send marketing emails if you subscribe;
  • prevent fraud, spam, and abuse, and keep the Site secure;
  • understand how the Site is used, and measure and improve our advertising (subject to your choices in Section 6);
  • comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it as described below.

Service providers that process information on our behalf, under contracts that limit how they may use it:

  • Stripe – payment processing and sales tax calculation;
  • Cloudflare – website hosting, security, and spam protection. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which runs a check in your browser to tell people from bots; see the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum;
  • Railway and Supabase – hosting of our order system and database in the United States;
  • Resend – delivery of order, reminder, and other emails;
  • Shipping carriers – delivering your order;
  • Google (Google Analytics) – measuring how the Site is used. We do not use Google signals. Our Google Analytics property is linked to our Google Ads account so we can see the results of our Google ads, but we do not share Google Analytics audiences with Google Ads for ad personalization.

Advertising partner (Google Ads). We use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure purchases that come from our ads on Google.

  • Ad click identifier: if you arrive on the Site by clicking one of our Google ads, Google's tag stores the click identifier in a cookie on our Site (such as _gcl_aw) so the purchase can be connected to the ad.
  • When you place an order: your browser sends Google your order number, the order value and currency, your IP address, and browser and device information. For enhanced conversions, it also sends your email address, phone number, name, and address, which Google's tag hashes (SHA-256) in your browser before sending. Hashing is a form of pseudonymization, not anonymization: Google can use the hashed values to match the purchase to a Google account.

Advertising partner (Meta). We use the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API (Facebook and Instagram) to measure the results of our ads and to show you relevant ads on other sites and apps.

  • Meta Pixel (from your browser): the pages you view; the products you view, add to your cart, or start checking out with (product IDs, quantities, and prices); the value of your purchase; your IP address; browser and device information; and Meta cookie identifiers (_fbp, _fbc).
  • Meta Conversions API (from our server, when you place an order): your order ID, the products and quantities, the order value and currency, the Meta cookie identifiers (_fbp, _fbc) from your browser, and your email address, phone number, first and last name, city, state, ZIP code, and country. We hash (SHA-256) the contact and address details before sending them. Hashing is a form of pseudonymization, not anonymization: Meta can use the hashed values to match the event to a Meta account.

Some U.S. state laws may treat our use of Google Ads and Meta as "selling" or "sharing" personal information, or as targeted advertising. You can opt out as described in Section 6.

Legal and business reasons. We may disclose information to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect our rights, customers, or others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

4. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Orders and transactions: seven years, to meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations.
  • Checkout and cart information you did not complete (including an email entered at checkout): for as long as it is useful for sending cart reminders, letting you restore your cart, and preventing fraud.
  • Contact form messages and order lookup requests: for as long as we need them to respond and keep a record of our support.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
  • Unsubscribe and opt-out records: for as long as needed to honor your choice (for example, so we do not email you again).
  • Analytics and advertising data held by Google and Meta: under those companies' own retention settings and policies.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

  • Necessary: keep your cart and checkout working, protect forms from spam (Cloudflare Turnstile), and remember your privacy choices.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use the Site.
  • Advertising: the Meta Pixel and Google Ads conversion tracking help us measure and improve our ads.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the Site, such as the cart, may not work without them.

Do Not Track. Our Site does not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals. We do honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as described in Section 6.

6. Your privacy choices

Opt out of sale or sharing. Visit Your Privacy Choices and select "Opt out." On that browser, we then:

  • stop loading the Meta Pixel on later pages, and tell a Meta Pixel already loaded on the current page to stop sending events;
  • delete the Meta cookies (_fbp, _fbc) that our Site can access;
  • do not send your purchases to Meta through the Conversions API;
  • do not load Google Ads conversion tracking and do not send your purchases to Google Ads;
  • turn off advertising storage and ad personalization signals in Google Analytics.

Google Analytics continues to collect usage and purchase information for analytics. Your choice is saved in a cookie in that browser. If you use another browser or device, or clear your cookies, please opt out again there. To opt out in other ways, or if you have trouble, email us.

Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of sale or sharing for that browser, with the same effects as above.

Cart reminder emails. Each cart reminder includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops cart reminders to that email address for our store; it does not affect order confirmations, shipping updates, or other emails about your orders.

Marketing emails. Each marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link, and we honor requests promptly. You can also email us to unsubscribe.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose, and get a copy of it;
  • correct inaccurate personal information;
  • delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions (for example, records we must keep for tax purposes);
  • opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising;
  • not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

To make a request, email [email protected] with the subject "Privacy Request." We will verify your request by matching information you provide with our records (such as your email and an order number). You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof of authorization. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

8. Security

We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and payment processing through Stripe, which is PCI DSS certified. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International visitors

We are based in the United States and sell to addresses in the United States. If you visit from elsewhere, your information will be processed in the United States.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date.
